Any Anime Style Is Welcome!

There is no single right anime style for this contest. You are free to draw in any anime or manga-inspired style, including:

  • Shonen-style action designs.
  • Shojo or romantic aesthetics.
  • Seinen or darker, mature styles.
  • Chibi or super-deformed characters.
  • Retro or classic anime looks.
  • Modern, experimental, or hybrid styles.

What matters is not the style you choose, but how clearly your character communicates who they are. If it feels anime or manga, it belongs in.

Be Original. Always.

You can draw inspiration from:

  • Myths and folklore.
  • Cultural symbols.
  • Personal imagination.

But your character must be your own creation.

Do not recreate, trace, or directly imitate existing characters from anime, manga, games, films, or books. Inspiration is welcome. Copying is not.

Wondering How Your Artwork Will Be Reviewed?

When our judging panel looks at your submission, they focus on how clearly your character communicates its identity and intent.

  • Is this character type instantly recognisable?
  • Is this character original?
  • Do the pose, expression, and costume support the character's role?
  • Does the overall design feel intentional and cohesive?

If your character feels clear and alive, it works.
