The GIANT Hunt is built on creativity, originality, and fair participation. These Rules & Guidelines exist to help every participant, whether beginner or experienced, take part with confidence and clarity.
Please read them carefully before registering or submitting your artwork. Participation in The GIANT Hunt means you agree to obey the rules outlined below.
A. About the Contest
A1. Overview
The GIANT Hunt is the world's largest online anime art contest, organised by Image Infotainment Limited as an official Guinness World Records attempt. It is a global anime and manga competition focused on original, hand-drawn character creation, bringing together anime fans from around the world in a shared creative moment.
A2. Contest Format
- The GIANT Hunt is conducted entirely online.
- Participation is individual, and each participant may submit one final artwork only.
- Team entries, collaborations, or multiple submissions are not permitted.
B. Eligibility & Participation
B1. Who Can Participate
The GIANT Hunt is open to participants worldwide under the following age categories:
- KI Level: Ages 9-15.
- ZEN Level: Ages 16-24.
- KAMI Level: Ages 25 and above.
Participants must register under the correct age category at the time of registration.
B2. Participation by Minors
Participants aged 9-17 years may participate with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By completing registration, such consent is deemed to have been obtained.
C. Theme & Artwork
C1. Theme of the Contest
Participants are required to create one original anime or manga-style character based on one of the following seven character types:
- Hero
- Heroine
- Villain
- Rival
- Mentor
- Monster
- Ally
The artwork should clearly express the role, personality, and essence of the chosen character through pose, expression, costume, and visual design.
C2. Originality & Inspiration
Participants may draw inspiration from myths, folklore, culture, or imagination. However, all submissions must be entirely original.
The following are not permitted:
- AI-generated artwork.
- Copyrighted characters.
- Plagiarised artwork.
Originality is a core principle of The GIANT Hunt.
D. Drawing Method & Tools
D1. Accepted Art Medium
Only hand-drawn artwork is allowed. Participants may use traditional tools such as pencils, pens, ink, markers, and colours.
Both black-and-white and coloured artworks are permitted.
Digital artwork created using tablets or stylus tools is also welcome.
D2. Not Permitted
To support human-made art and ensure fairness, the following are not allowed:
- AI-generated or AI-assisted artwork.
- Digitally enhanced or automated artwork.
Submissions that violate these conditions may be disqualified.
D3. Proof of Creation & Verification
To ensure authenticity and fair evaluation, participants are encouraged to maintain proof of the artwork creation process, this includes:
- Performing a screen capture of the drawing process from start to finish, in case of using Digital method.
- Retain the original physical artwork in its original condition, in case of traditionally hand-drawn artworks.
If declared a winner, participants may be required to submit the screen recording or original artwork to the organisers for verification.
E. Submission Guidelines
E1. Preparing Your Artwork
Once the drawing is complete, participants must scan or clearly photograph their artwork, if done in traditional method.
The full artwork must be visible, properly lit, and free from shadows, blur, or cropping.
E2. File Requirements
- Accepted formats: JPG or PNG.
- Maximum file size: 10 MB.
Artwork must be uploaded only through the official The GIANT Hunt submission portal.
Physical submissions are not required or accepted.
E3. How to Submit
After completing your artwork:
- Export or photograph the drawing clearly.
- Ensure the entire artwork is visible.
- Upload the file through the official submission portal.
- Confirm submission before the deadline.
Only one final upload is permitted per participant.
F. Judging & Evaluation
F1. Screening Process
All submissions are first checked for rule compliance, including originality, medium, and adherence to contest guidelines.
F2. Jury Evaluation
Valid entries are evaluated by an independent international panel of jurors.
Judging is based on:
- Originality.
- Clarity of character representation.
- Visual storytelling.
- Overall character design.
Jury decisions are final and binding.
G. Results & Records
G1. Results & Leaderboard
Selected entries may be featured on a category-wise leaderboard on the website. Results will be announced through official communication channels.
G2. Guinness World Records Consideration
The GIANT Hunt is conducted as an official Guinness World Record title apptempt.
Registration alone does not guarantee inclusion in the record attempt.
Only valid and verified submissions will be considered for evaluation.
Qualified participants may receive a digital Guinness World Record certificate, subject to final verification.
G3. Proof of Submission for Winners
Once the results and prize winners are announced, shortlisted winners must submit proof of authorship for verification:
- Digital artworks: A complete screen recording showing the artwork created from start to finish.
- Traditionally hand-drawn artworks: The original physical artwork.
All verification materials must be submitted to Image Infotainment Limited as instructed. Failure to comply within the stipulated timeframe may result in forfeiture of prizes, without affecting contest results or the Guinness World Records attempt.
H. Rights & Responsibilities
H1. Usage Rights
By submitting an artwork, participants grant Image Infotainment Limited and its partners an exclusive, irrevocable, royalty free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide licence in perpetuity to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, publish, transmit, display and distribute such IPR in any and all media or distribution methods (now known or later developed).
Participants agree that this licence includes the right for Image Infotainment Limited to promote its own brand, commercial products and to make the IPR available to other companies, organisations or individuals who partner with Image Infotainment Limited for the syndication, broadcast, distribution or publication of the IPR on other media and services.
Participants acknowledge that no additional compensation or claim shall arise from such uses by Image Infotainment Limited, or other companies, organisations or individuals who partner with Image Infotainment Limited, may be made with no compensation to them.
I. Disqualification
Submissions may be disqualified if they:
- Violate contest rules.
- Include prohibited or AI-generated content.
- Infringe third-party rights.
- Contain false, offensive, or inappropriate material.

Participants must submit their artwork within the official submission window. Late submissions may not be accepted.

The organiser reserves the right to update timelines or guidelines if required. All updates will be communicated through official channels.
